No let-up in anti-movie protests



RAWALPINDI - Scores of activist of Tehrik Minhaj-ul-Quran (TMQ) rallied of Benazir Bhutto Road (BBR) on Saturday to reach Islamabad to hold protest demo against blasphemous anti-Islam film produced by a US clergy.
Carrying the portraits of their beloved chief Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri, party flags, placards and banners mentioning words in favour of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and against US administration, film producer and Pastor Terry John, the protestors gathered outside Liaquat Bagh where they held a protest demo. They were also chanting slogans against US President Barrack Obama and State Secretary Hillary Clinton for not taking action against the film producer, who hurt the sentiments of million of Muslims by making the film.
Later, the protestors riding on buses, wagons and Suzuki Pick ups proceeded towards Islamabad passing through Committee Chowk, Waris Khan, Naz Cinema Chowk, Chandni Chowk, Rehmanabad, 6th Road, Shamasabad and Faizabad, where people accorded them a tumultuous welcome by showering rose petals.
During the rally, the protestors remained peaceful and did not damage private or public property. Tight security arrangements were made on the occasion by the law enforcers to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, Aalmi Tanzim Ahl-e-Sunnat Central Senior Naib Ameer Allama Muhammad Ferooz-ud-Din Qadri expressed his deep sorrow over the causalities and damages occurred on the occasion of Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (SAW) in different cities of the country.
He, while denouncing the riots, said that some extremist elements have been trying to sabotage Tahafuz-e-Namos-e-Risalat movement by creating mess to gain their vested interests. However, the nation and lovers of Prophet (PBUH) have no connection with the elements, he stated.
While talking to group of a journalist here, Allama Muhammad Ferooz said that Muslim Ummah would never allow any body to disgrace its religious figures adding that US should punish the anti-Islam producer or hand him over to Muslims to bring him to the book.
