ISLAMABAD – Chairman Intellectual Property Organisation, Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi, Sunday suggested action against the respective district administrators where polio cases are reported.
“The only way to make National Polio Eradication Campaign successful is to hold the administrative heads of the district concerned responsible where polio cases are reported despite polio-drives,” he said talking to media. He said below average performance should be recorded in the Annual Confidential Reports of such Administrative Officers who had failed to ensure hundred percent coverage of the administration of polio drops.
He said particularly the situation in tribal areas is very critical where huge population is becoming the victim of militancy. Owing to militancy, no one can easily move within the localities and approach the targeted kids to administer polio drops due to constant imposition of curfew.
