RAWALPINDI – Thirty procedures of cleft palate, burn contractors and other body organ deformations were successfully performed by a team of expert plastic surgeons here at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) during a Free Plastic Surgery Camp which will continue till May 28.
Professor Hamid Hasan, Prof of Surgery Rawalpindi Medical College, has organised the plastic surgery Camp.
He informed that patients especially who had becomes the victims of burns approached to BBH for availing treatment facilities. The renowned Plastic Surgeon Dr Charles Viva along with a team of Pakistani surgeons, paramedical and nursing staff is conducting plastic surgery procedures in the hospital.
Giving details, Prof Hamid said that plastic surgery is a costly treatment that every one can’t afford furthermore, the specialists in this specific discipline is also very limited.
It is blessing for the patients that Dr Charles Viva with a highly skilled medical team extending his assistance for the ailing humanity and visited Pakistan to treat the patients who cannot afford the expenditures of plastic surgery in Pakistan or abroad.
Professor Hamid further informed that dedicated team of doctors and paramedic is engaged in providing medical treatment facilities to the patients even during off days and beyond duty hours so that maximum patients could be treated. He said after detailed examination and screening of the most deserving patients, a list has been prepared and it would be made possible to perform all the procedures within stipulated period.
Professor Hamid Hassan also mentioned the support of hospital administration for organising Plastic Surgery Camp in a disciplined manner. He further informed that a plastic surgery workshop also conducted to impart postgraduate trainees with the latest advancements in the field of surgery and are contributed a lot during the plastic surgery camp.
