Lighting arrangement at police picket demanded

ISLAMABAD - Citizens, commuters, and transport community have expressed grave concerns over lack of proper lighting facilities at Zero Point police picket near PID stop, saying that it may cause any fatal accident during night time. They said that it was not possible for drivers to see the on duty police officials and barrier due to non-availability light. “The area falls into the darkness just after the sun set and it is not possible for driver to see the police picket in the absence of light,” said a public transport driver. On the other hand, the police officials who are deployed at the picket start harassing the people after stopping them at the picket.

Meanwhile, several complaints are lodged against the police officials but the senior police officials are not paying any heed to redress the public grievances. The citizens appealed the IG Islamabad to arrange proper lighting at the picket and to take notice of the public complaints against the police officials deployed at the police picket.
