NYA set to feed the poor in 40 districts

ISLAMABAD  - A group of international/national achievers of Pakistan has chalked out a plan for feeding underprivileged demographic of the country in 40 districts under the platform of National Youth Assembly (NYA).This project will be launched in public hospitals and bus terminals to feed more than 500,000 poor people of the country. A mock parliament of Pakistani future leaders, NYA carried out a project of similar nature, in which the NYA fed more than 40,000 people in twenty districts of the country.A nominee for international child peace prize, Malala Yousafzai; an international squash player, Amir Atlas Khan; world record holder with 23 A’s in O levels Ibrahim Shahid, international snooker player, Sharam Changezi and others have vowed to actively participate this nationwide feeding hungry campaign.While taking to APP, the President National Youth Assembly, Hanan Ali Abbasi said, “Most of the population of the country is facing gigantic and formidable problems of unemployment, inflation, and terrorism. People are cursed with exacerbate financial situation and it is becoming hard for them to make their both ends meet. They can’t afford to feed their families.”He shared, “According to the HDI, 60.3 per cent of Pakistan’s population lives on under $2 a day and some 22.6 per cent live under $1 a day. Wealth distribution in Pakistan is highly uneven, with 10 per cent of the population earning 27.6 per cent of income”. He said, “We should come forward to help our poor brothers and sisters who are looking for our assistance in this worsen financial situation”.The Vice President of NYA, Aamir Atlas Khan informed, “We have devised a cohesive plan to carry out this project, and teams of our nationwide members in 40 districts would host mass If’tar dinner as well as distribute ration to the needy people in an organized manner as per our plan”. “We are seeking individuals to stepping forward to support this noble project; to either donate the full amount themselves or to take it upon themselves to raise the money”, he appealed. Deputy Speaker National Youth Assembly, Anum Javaid Cheema told APP that women wing of NYA would not fall behind to make this campaign successful, and like last year, we would spare no effort to help deprived and hard-ups.“In order to ensure transparency, we invite donors to participate in upcoming programme. We will appreciate all kinds of contributions, be it a moral, financial, etc.”, she said.
