Fuel surcharge on electricity bills goes

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has ordered an end to unannounced loadshedding in the country within 24 hours, reported private TV channels.

On PM’s call, Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar announced not to recover fuel surcharge on electricity bills.
According to a statement issued from the PM House on Monday, the Prime Minster, while taking notice of the critical situation, has directed to bring the situation in control on priority basis. Gilani is on a visit to South Korea to attend Nuclear Summit. He also ordered the concerned ministry to report him after implementation of the order.
Naveed Qamar said that 9,500 MW electricity was being generated in the country, adding that some of the power plants were out of order, causing tremendous problems for people.
