RAWALPINDI - A bloody clash over land dispute on Saturday claimed a precious human life and left three others injured including an old woman here at Malik Colony within the precinct of Police Station Saddar Bairooni.
The deceased was identified as Muhammad Farooq while those who sustained bullet injuries were Munawar Bibi, Muhammad Nazir and Muhammad Hanif. A case has been registered by police.
According to Additional Station House Officer (SHO) PS Saddar Bairooni Tariq Gondal and some other eyewitnesses, the clash occurred between two real cousins Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Amin over constructing a wall in their ancestral piece of land. They said that Muhammad Farooq tried to build a wall at his portion of house. Muhammad Amin tried to bar him doing so saying it would block the passage of his family members. But Farooq refused on which Muhammad Amin and his other accomplices rushed to their house and appeared again with sophisticated weapons than opened fire on Farooq and other family members who were also gathered there soon after the exchange of hot words between two cousins.
Resultantly, Farooq died on the spot and his mother Munawar Bibi, 50, and two brothers Muhammad Nazir and Muhammad Hanif sustained bullet injuries.
Meanwhile, the neighbours immediately called police and Rescue 1122. The rescue team shifted the injured to District headquarters Hospital. The condition of injured was stated stable.
According to doctors, providing medical treatment to the injured persons, Munawar Bibi received bullet on leg, Muhammad Nazir received bullet on hand and Muhammad Hanif received bullet at his foot. Soon after the incident, a heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene and started penning in the statements of the people. The killers fled from the scene before the arrival of police.
Addl SHO PS Saddar Bairooni Tariq Gondal, while talking to TheNation, said that two police teams have been formed to track down the assassins. “Raids are being conducted at various places to nab the killers,” he added.
He said that the case had been registered against the culprits under section 302, 324 and 334 of CrPc and the police launched investigation into the murder case.
