ISLAMABAD - Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has termed Punjab government as equally responsible with the federal government for worst energy crisis and hour-long loadshedding in the country.“After the passage of 18th Amendment provinces can generate electricity from their resources but Punjab government did not take any step in this regard. It’s the responsibility of the rulers to address real issues of the masses,” Imran Khan said while criticising the Punjab CM for establishing a protest camp in Lahore against electricity outages. The PTI chief stated this while addressing a press conference here at party’s central secretariat, where renowned religious scholar Mufti Abdul Qavi announced to join PTI.Stating the creation of Pakistan utterly purposeless until its transformation into a real Islamic welfare state, Imran Khan said that PTI would strive for a new Pakistan as was envisaged by the Nation’s Father, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.“Transforming Pakistan into a secular state will be amounted to betray millions of Muslims because the country was formed on the very basis of becoming an Islamic welfare state,” Imran remarked. Khan said that prior to the Muslim world, there was no notion of welfare states in Europe and that they had borrowed this concept from the Muslim world. Imran Khan said PTI would not forge electoral alliance with any of the parties, which is part of the incumbent Parliament. “PTI will prefer to sit on opposition benches in the Parliament after next general elections but it will not take support of parties of status quo.”Imran said President Zardari had brought forward his another “servant”, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, to save his corruption. “The issue is whether the new PM will write to Swiss authorities to reopen cases against Zardari or not. If the government tries to derail independent judiciary to hide its corruption, a massive protest campaign will be launched against it.”Lifting ‘Raja Rental’ to the position of Premier is shameful, Imran said, adding President Zardari had continuously been disgracing the office of chief executive of the country. The PTI chief said that his party does not acknowledge the incumbent Parliament, as it’s not more than a rubberstamp. “Assemblies have become auction centres where every individual has a price tag,” he added.Speaking on the issue of drone strikes, Khan said that former US President Jimmy Carter’s has also termed drone strikes a violation of international and humanitarian laws.“We have seen the Pakistani parliament’s resolution coming into place against drones, it is accepted worldwide that the drone campaign is wrong and the public support for it is on a downward spiral.”INP adds: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, said on Wednesday that Pakistan’s creation has been pointless if the country fails to become an Islamic welfare state. Imran said that the failure of Pakistan becoming an Islamic welfare state will be a deception for all Muslims residing in India, because Pakistan was “formed on the very basis of becoming an Islamic welfare state.”The PTI chairman said that there was no concept of welfare states in Europe and that they had taken this concept from the Muslim world. “They formed all the Scandinavian states based on this concept. They call it Omar laws there. We need to bring our culture back to our own land.”
