SSP reiterates to make police corruption-free

ISLAMABAD – Renewing the commitment to make Islamabad police corruption-free force, Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik has said that no one within the department would be allowed to do any kind of embezzlement and only those following the policy of zero tolerance against corruption would survive.

He stated it during a special briefing to the police officials here at National Library which was also attended among others by SP (City) Muhammad Ilyas, SP (Rural) Faisal, all SDPOS, SHOs of all police stations, patrolling officers, investigation officers and those cops performing duties at police pickets.
A press statement issued from office of the Superintendent of the Islamabad capital territory police, stated quoting the SSP that zero tolerance against corruption would be pursued because this menace seriously undermines the image of the force.
According to the press note, the SSP stressed for high vigilance at the police pickets by saying that criminal activities can be checked through strict monitoring at entry as well as exit points.
He directed the police officials to take effective steps to control crime in the city and ensure arrest of proclaimed offender and other criminals at earliest involved in crimes of heinous nature and are still at large.
“An effective strategy is vital to control crime and also ordered to adopt a professional as well as responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people,” the SSP said.
The SSP said that he would not tolerate corruption and purge those police officials from the force involved in corrupt practices.
Regarding the duty hours of policemen, he said that task has been assigned to SPs for reducing duty hours and ensure conducive working environment for policemen.
He also directed all police officials performing duties at police stations to remain polite with people, improve their performance and address the grievances of the masses on immediate basis following the merit to win the confidence and support of the people for the cops’ department.
