Justice Shakirullah Jan takes oath as acting Chief Justice

Justice Shakirullah Jan on Monday took the oath as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan in the absence of Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry who is on a visit to London to attend the International Jurists Conference.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Supreme Court. Judges of apex court, prominent lawyers, Election Commission officials and others attended the ceremony.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has gone to UK to receive an International Jurists Award for his efforts for a free and transparent judiciary in the country.
