IGP opens modern reporting section






ISLAMABAD - Aiming high to make Islamabad Capital Territory Police a model for rest of law enforcement agencies of the country, Inspector General of Islamabad Police Bani Amin Khan on Monday inaugurated modern reporting section at Shalimar police station.
On the occasion DIG Headquarters Sultan Azam Temuri, AIG Khalid Khan Khattak, SSP Islamabad Yasin Farooq, SSP Traffic Dr Moeen Masood, SSP Mir Wais Naiz, SP Saddar Sajid Khani, SP HQ Dr Ghyas Gul DSP Abdur Rashid, Inspector Police station Shalimar Qasim Khan Nazi were also present. Local notable were also present on the occasion.
According to a press note issued from IGP Islamabad office, the IGP assured the citizens that staff would be available in the reporting round the clock to help the people of the city. The reporting section will try to solve the problems of the masses and facilitate them without wasting any time. The well-educated official would be deployed in the reporting section.
A separate counseling center with the coordination of local community set up in the police station would help resolve clash and conflicts issues. Cameras have been installed for security purpose and keep eyes on people coming in the police station.
On the occasion IGP said it was the responsibility of the police to protect the life and provide security to them. The IGP said the modern reporting section would help residents of capital register their complaints without any difficulties.
He said more modern reporting sections would be opened in reaming police stations, as work in this regard is under way. “We will facilitate and try to resolve the problems of the people and I have directed all the police stations to utilise their energies to serve the masses,” he said.
He said the best possible work environment will be provided to the Islamabad Police, so they can perform their duties in a responsible and dignified manner.
Amin said police officials were the backbone of any force and the Islamabad Police would make every effort to strengthen its cops.
This will help them perform duties in an effective manner and so they can play a leading role in ensuring the protection of the lives and property. He said that he had accorded priority to boost the confidence of lowers cadres, especially constables, as they braved challenging circumstances to uphold the law and order.
He expressed satisfaction over zero corruption and said that corruption would be eliminated completely from police stations too.
