DCO, MNA visit Ramazan bazaar

RAWALPINDI  – District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar along with Member National Assembly (MNA) Malik Ibrar Ahmed visited ‘Ramazan Sasta Bazaar of Chungi No. 22 and checked the quality and rates of the daily-use items.
The DCO said ‘Sasta Ramazan Bazaars’ are being held to provide relief to the citizens on the special directives of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The CM has also directed that no compromise should be made on quality of daily-use items and edibles, he added. Solid steps for the provision of quality products to the consumers have been taken by the Rawalpindi district administration, he said.
The DCO and MNA, during the visit were briefed that live chicken is available in the bazaar at Rs 155 per kg, sugar at Rs 50 per kg with other subsidized kitchen items. DCO Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar informed that sufficient quantity of subsidised flour is available in Sasta Ramazan Bazaars.
DCO issued directives that sufficient quantity of fruits should be made available in Ramazan Bazaars. DCO on this occasion said that fruits and vegetables are being supplied to the consumers on subsidized rates and the rates in Sasta Ramazan Bazaars are less than open market.
He said ten kg subsidized flour bag is being supplied at Rs 230. The subsidy is being provided by the Punjab Government. Malik Ibrar said the quality of daily-use items must be maintained in all these bazaars. He said the mechanism adopted to control rates of necessary items in Ramazan Sasta Bazaars should be implemented strictly.
