Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik has said that government is making serious efforts for recovery of missing persons and one should avoid blame-game in this regard.

He was of the view that law and constitution of the country is supreme and no Baloch politician could be allowed to disregard Pakistani passport. Sitting Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government as a part of it politics of reconciliation summoned the renowned Baloch leader, Akhtar Mengal and excluded his name from exit control list (ECL) upon his request.
Malik said he will forward his Senate speech to Akhtar Megal, saying that he will ask him why he didn’t arrest those who were responsible for his brother’s abduction.
He said the six points presented by the chief of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), Sardar Akhtar Mengal were not comparable with the six points of Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman.
Malik further said that the Frontier Corps (FC) were deployed in the province even during Mengal’s tenure as chief minister of Balochistan and that the state institutions should not be defamed. He said Sardar Mengal’s talks with political personalities was significant though the blame game should not be played.
He said that no military operation was being conducted against insurgency in Balochistan and some sections of media and opposition parties were issuing statements to create hype and enrage already annoyed Baloch people. He said that people should not malign the army, adding that foreign elements were involved in the unrest of the province.
The Interior Minister said that PPP leadership has already met with top Baloch leadership and all annoyed Baloch politicians and public would be brought in mainstream.
To a question regarding his dual nationality, Rehman Malik refused to comment saying the SC has summoned him on Oct 3, and will act upon what the court will decide about my fate.
