Release of prisoners from Saudi jails sought

KARACHI - Chief of Tehreek-e-Tahafuze Harmain and Head of Binoria Seminary Mufti Mohammad Naeem on Tuesday demanded of the government to take immediate steps for the release of 45 detained Pakistanis in Saudi prisons.Addressing a press conference at Jamia Binoria along with the families of detained Pakistani pilgrims, he said that these people were detained by the Saudi forces on false charges, saying that these people spent thousands of rupees for performing Umrah not for stealing or theft.He feared that the hands of these detained Pakistani pilgrims would be cut by the Saudi officials according to the Saudi law for theft if our government did not interfere in the case of these innocent people.Criticising the performance of Pakistani diplomatic mission in Saudia Arabia, he said the government was spending millions of rupees monthly on Pakistani diplomats but they were not interested to address problems of Pakistani pilgrims in Saudia.Mufti Naeem demanded of the government of Pakistan to take immediate steps for the release of innocent Pakistani’s in Saudi prison. The families of detained Pakistanis also appealed to the Saudi government to immediately release their beloved saying that they were innocent and not involved in any snatching and robbery.Meanwhile, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Tuesday notified the result of Home Economics Group HSC Part II Annual Examination 2012.According to statistics, 269 candidates appeared in the examination and of these 159 were declared as successful with a pass percentage of 59.11.In all, four candidates were placed in A-I grade and 24 in A grade while 41 got B grade.As many as 54 candidates obtained C grade and 35 got D grade while only one candidates passed the examination with E grade. Amna Athar Jafree got first position with 1,001 marks.out of maximum of 1,200 secured first position.Yousra Afzal with 989 marks and Nida Azhar with 961 marks got second and third positions respectively.They belonged to Rana Liaquat Ali Khan Government College of Home Economics.
