KARACHI - ZA Nizami has been again elected unopposed as president of the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association for three-year term. Adil Usman, Cdre (r) Salim A Siddiqui and Muhammad Yousuf Siddiqui have been elected vice presidents, while Mukhtar Ahmed Naqvi as general secretary of the AMUOBA.

ZA Nizami said, “I feel privileged and humbled to be re-elected by fellow members for another term to serve the association. I will continue to support the vision of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan through advocacy and communication with all the stakeholders.”
He said the Sir Syed University had collaboration with 11 renowned universities of the US and in recognition of its high standard of education the government had awarded "A" category to the university.
The newly-elected office-bearers of the AMUOBA assured that they would discharge their duties to the entire satisfaction of members of the Association and work tooth and nail to achieve its objectives.
For the posts of treasurer and joint secretary, Muhammad Salman Saleh and Masood Alam have already been elected unopposed. Other candidates who returned unopposed included Dr Jaffar Nazir Usmani (Joint Secretary Sports), Ali Zafar Khan Afridi (Joint Secretary Publicity) and Shajar Ali Hashmi (Joint Secretary Academic). Eighteen members of the executive committee have also been elected.
ZA Nizami is the chancellor of the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology since its establishment in 1993 by virtue of his being president of the AMUOBA.
