CS orders action against profiteers

KARACHI - Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas has directed commissioners, deputy commissioners and departments concerned to ensure the stability of prices of food items and other commodities, so that consumers could be protected from the menace of profiteering and overcharging.

  With the specific reference to various public complaints and news reports the chief secretary directed the officials concerned that strict action should be taken as per law against the persons found involved in selling substandard food items or profiteering.
Meanwhile, member of the Sindh Assembly Muhammad Zia Qadri on last Saturday called for a strict action against land grabbers and encroachers under the municipal laws.
Inspecting ongoing operation against encroachments in Shah Faisal Colony he directed the municipal officers to take indiscriminate action and ensure the removing of all illegal construction from the main and services roads.
The MPA was told that during the last three days hundreds of illegal constructions and encroachments had been removed from different roads, markets and shopping centers.
