KWSB severs unlawful water connections

KARACHI - The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) in its on-going campaign against illegal hydrants and water theft has cut off unauthorised connections, being used to pilfer water from main pipelines in different areas of the metropolis.

According to a statement issued on Sunday, KWSB team cut off an illegal water connection of ice factory in Ibrahim Haideri area while another connection being used for unauthorised hydrant by ‘tanker mafia’ was disconnected in Korangi area.
FIRs have also been lodged against the responsible who had obtained the illegal connection by damaging the KWSB pipelines. With the disconnection of unauthorised connections, water supply to these localities would improve considerably, it added.
