Security beefed up for Shab-e-Baraat

KARACHI - Sindh Police chief Mushtaq Ahmed Shah on Sunday directed police officials to make appropriate security arrangements for Shab-e-Baraat falling this Thursday.

He said that action would be taken against elements involved in manufacturing and selling of fireworks and crackers without any discrimination in collaboration with the Sindh Rangers.
According to a statement, the IGP specifically directed the additional IGP to alert all police stations in the city as pointed out by the media against the selling of firework items.
He also directed police officials to make strict security arrangements around graveyards, ensure smooth flow of traffic and ban parking of vehicles and push-carts around and on the routes leading to graveyards and shrines as security precaution.
He further directed to detail sufficient number of traffic police to control traffic near these places. He also called for conducting snap checking in all areas of the city, picketing and police patrolling in collaboration with the rangers.
