KARACHI - Shab-e-Barat - the night of salvation - would be observed on July 5. The faithfuls would offer special prayers and ‘Nawafils’ on the occasion. They would also visit the graves of their near and dear ones to offer fateha.

Meanwhile, Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has directed the officials concerned to ensure cleanliness and other arrangements in the graveyards by KMC and all district administrations, ahead of Shab-e-Baraat falling on July 5.
Following directive from the Administrator Karachi, Senior Director Municipal Services Dr. Shaukat Zaman had informed all District Administrators through a letter that all UC Secretaries may be directed to ensure their presence in the graveyards in their respective areas on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat and to bring any emergency-like situation in the notice of officials concerned on timely basis. They were also asked to make better lighting arrangements in graveyards and the availability of hand pumps in working condition, setup medical camps on the central gates of graveyards. He also directed to ensure availability of the medical staff and necessary medicines, remove garbage and illegal encroachment from the surroundings of graveyards immediately and make proper lighting arrangements at the roads leading to graveyards.
He further said that Shab-e-Baraat will be observed on July 5 this year and on this occasion a large number of people would visit graveyards therefore proper arrangements would be ensured on priority basis.
