Unabated killings continue with eight more deaths

KARACHI – The spree of target killing continued in the City which claimed eight more lives here on Friday.An activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement was killed in Jafar Tayyar within the remits of Malir City police station. Police said 50-year-old Saeed aka Mada joined MQM with former Haqqiqi leader Amir Khan was on his way to home on a motorbike along with his son. Some unknown gunmen riding a motorbike came close to him and targeted him. Police quoted the eye witnesses as saying that assailants were wearing helmets who managed to flee. The victim was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced him dead. Following the murder panic spread out in the locality where commercial and non-commercial activities were suspended.An activist of defunct People Ammn Committee was shot dead at Nazimabad No-2, Golimar within the remits of Gulbahar police station. Police said that gunmen took him near the government School Nazimabad in a car and shot him three times before the residents of the area. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The deceased was identified as Shahid Hanif, 28. He was working for Ahmed Magsi group of Ammn Committee involved in a number of criminal cases. The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after autopsy.Another Ammn Committee activist was shot dead in Patal Para within the remits of Jamshaid Quarter police station. Police said that Faisal aka Langra, a notorious gangster of Magsi group, was sitting at Flimistan Cinema situated at Patal Para where his own companions, sitting with him, shot him over some personal dispute and escaped. Police said that the deceased was involved in 16 cases of murder.Moreover, gunmen riding a motorbike shot dead a 35-year-old Jamil Din Muhammad, resident of sector 5/A North Karachi within the remits of Khawaja Ajmair Nagri police station. Police said that the deceased was standing at the Madiha Bus stop where gunmen targeted him and managed to flee. Police suspected personal enmity behind the incident while the body was handed over to the family after autopsy.Meanwhile, police found a gunny bag decomposed body of a young man from Lyari riverbed within the remits of Pak Colony police station. Police said that gunmen abducted him and threw his shot dead body at the said place some three days ago. Police shifted the body to morgue for identification after autopsy.  Another shot dead body was found near form Kashti Wali Masjid, Dhobi Ghat within the remits of Kalakot police station. Police said that deceased was identified as Shahid alias Soalih, resident of Lane 6, Dhobi Ghat, went missing from October 28, when culprits were abducted him and kept him into detention. The assailants were tortured him before throwing his body. Police shifted the body to hospital and later handed over to the family after autopsy. Police said deceased’s another brother had also been killed in similar way couple of months ago. Police suspected involvement of Lyari gangsters behind the incident.An activist of Muhajir Qaumi Movement Haqqiqi was shot dead in the remits of Saeedabad police station. Police said that 42-year-old Aslam Zafar going on a motorbike when gunmen intercepted him near Sector 19/D Saeedabad and shot him multiple times. Later, they managed to flee while the victim was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police said that deceased was affiliated with MQM-H was currently residing in Orangi Town.Firing in rejoice claimed a life of a teenage girl who was standing at the balcony of her home within the remits of Kalri police station. Police said that Rijja Youns was standing at her house’s balcony to saw a marriage function took place at Jatt Masjid Road. Some gunmen resorted to indiscriminate firing in rejoice and a bullet riddled her head. She was taken to the Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. The family of the deceased girl took the body away without legal formalities.
