KARACHI - Sindh Excise & Taxation Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla said on Wednesday that different teams of his department seized 413kg hashish and 258 gram heroin in different actions during a campaign against drug smugglers and peddlers.According to a statement, he said 400kg hashish was recovered from a tanker bearing registration No TLH-479 at super highway near Kathore area. The hashish was hidden in secret cavities of tanker. The vehicle was impounded and accused Gaiman Pathan was arrested. Moreover, during different actions in Karachi city, five kg hashish was recovered from a taxi and accused Niaz Muhammad was arrested; 6kg hashish was recovered from accused Ghulam Qasim while one kilogram hashish from Badshah Khan; 60 gram hashish from Bahadur Zaman while heroin was recovered from different accused persons. Meanwhile, the excise police arrested an accused Ghulam Qasim and seized 6kg hashish from his possession at Kamran Chowrangi, Gulstan-e-Johar area on Wednesday. Excise official said that the accused was going to supply the hashish to the drug peddlers of that area.
