Quacquarelli Symonds is the world’s most renowned and prestigious ranking agency, which ranks universities for their research output and number of disciplines that are taught by the institution.
QS has regarded the KU as a large university having more than 24,000 enrolled students. As per the ranking, the university has focus on all five major faculties and have a high rate of research. Dr Qaiser in his message said that it was a matter of pride that the university was able to attain higher ranks with every passing year. It is very likely that due to the dedicated efforts of KU teachers and researchers, the University will be able to get listed in the top ten universities of the world”.
Moreover, one day training workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights” was organised by KU Office of Research Innovation and Commercialisation in collaboration with Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre and Department of Microbiology.
Prof Dr Gleyn Bledsoe of Idaho University, USA, who was the chief guest on the occasion, commended the efforts of KU for initiating training workshops through ORIC for young faculty members to create awareness about intellectual property laws in protecting new information/inventions, designs, researches and to understand the repercussions of copying other’s work, design and getting involved in plagiarism.
