PESHAWAR - Leader of Businessmen Forum and ANP Senator Ilyas Bilour has expressed concern over surging prices of petroleum products, saying that prices were not reversed despite lowering rates at international market.
He asked the government to take immediate notice of the increasing prices of petroleum commodities. This, he stated in a press release issued here by Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) on Monday. He said that petroleum prices were declined from US $ 105 per barrel to US $ 82 per barrel at international market, but prices didn’t reversed accordingly. Mr Bilour alleged that the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had put burden of poor masses to extend benefits to private oil companies in the country. He maintained that the Ogra and Oil companies were looting poor masses with both hands, demanded of the government to take notice against the manipulation of the petroleum companies and Ogra.
He said that the oil companies are earning huge revenue with support of Ogra and squeezing the poor masses. He urged the Prime Minister Gilani to take notice of the manipulation of petroleum companies and Ogra, and bring down oil prices as per rates of international market.
