UoP students win Texpo scholarship

PESHAWAR - As many as seven University of Peshawar students have won the TEXPO ‘Mentoring a Talent’ scholarship in the Information Technology.
The seven students of Department of Computer Science were picked for the scholarship after an online test and interview arranged by TEXPO, Microsoft Certified partner held in April this year.  The students include Fawad Younas, Zulqarnain Alam, Abdus Salam, Irfan Azam, Muhammad Junaid, Naureen Akram and Ahmar Mahmood. They were awarded with scholarship equivalent to two years tuition fee for their studies.
The award winning students accompanied by Dr. Mahfooz, Chiarman Department of Computer Science University of Peshawar called on the Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz on Monday.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the students and their chairman for achieving distinction in the field of Information Technology in South
Asia. He termed the achievement as hard work of students, their parents and teachers. Dr Mahfooz informed the Vice Chancellor that a total of twenty five scholarships have been awarded to students of all Universities in Pakistan among which University of Peshawar has won seven which comes to around 30% of the total.
He added that the competition was held among the selected students of Universities from Srilanka, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, India and Bangladesh.
