SUC demands operation against banned outfits

KARACHI  - Shia Ulema Council and other Shia organisations have voiced strong protest over terror incident at Abbas Town here and demanded massive targeted operation against banned outfits and de-weaponisation of the city.
Addressing a press conference here Monday, SUC leader Allama Nazir Abbas Taqvi called upon the government to conduct targeted operation against the proscribed outfits.
"There is no issue of Shia and Sunni in city. There is only the issue of terrorism", he stated.
Regarding burial of the victims of terror incident, he said the final decision in this respect would be taken after consultation with the family members of the killed persons.
He went on to say" Rehman Malik says Punjab government sponsors terrorists and Punjab government says federal government backs them. All are politicking.
Malik should tell about the angels who foretell him what is going to happen ahead.
If the institutions have no such capability to prevent terrorism even having foreknowledge on this count, then where should we go? Terrorists are apprehended and convicted but Rehman Malik says that awarding capital punishment to the culprits is not policy of his government".
People come to the streets when they are not provided justice and their due rights, he remarked. He called for de-weaponisation of Karachi city, release of innocent members of Shia community and exemplary punishment for the persons behind the terror incident.
"We give time to the government till Thursday for acceptance of our demands", he held.
