KARACHI - An assistant director of Nadra was arrested on the charge of stealing the car of Nadra’s director.Sources informed that the assistant director namely Adnan Majeed Butt was appointed in the Accounts Department of Sindh Nadra Headquarters. The car was owned by Colonel Amir, director HRHQ Nadra, Hyderabad.Sources informed that the stolen car was recovered from a house in Hyderabad. A security guard, deputed at the house, had informed the police that this was my boss Adnan Majeed’s vehicle and he parked it here.Nadra management had registered a case against Adnan Majeed in Bahadurabad police station but the SHO said that he was not aware of the incident.An official of Nadra said the department had issued a notification about Majeed that he would not allow to enter any office of Nadra including the headquarters till the case comes to its logical end.Despite repeated contacts, Sindh Nadra Managing Director Maqsood Jandhani was not available to give his version in this regard.STEPS BEING TAKEN TO SET UP E-DRIVING LICENSE BRANCHES: Inspector General of Police Sindh Mushtaq Ahmed Shah Thursday said steps are being taken for setting up of e-driving licenses in all the five districts in Karachi.He expressed these views during the initiation of the upgradation of the department of edriving section of the Driving License Branch Clifton.The DIG License and Training, Abdul Malik, said that after the completion of the first phase in Karachi, the edriving licenses would be issued from all the districts in the province.Mushtaq Ahmed Shah further pointed out that issuance of driving licenses with the adoption of modern technology was aimed at collection of comprehensive data. This was also to eliminate the chances of fake driving licenses, he added.The IGP said that with streamlining the process the driving licenses could only be issued to the genuine people.Later, he undertook a detailed visit to the Driving License Branch Clifton and saw the facilities made available there.
