KARACHI - Thousands of Karachiites on Friday took out a protest rally against the reopening of Nato supply lines from Pakistan and termed that restoration of Nato supply line is a license to kill Muslims of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He vowed that the nation would block the Nato supply through Pakistan and urged the government to immediately withdraw the decision.
He recalled that Senator Mian Raza Rabbani had presented 26 points in the national assembly as conditions to restore the Nato supply but the government had restored the supply line due to which the nation was extremely subjugated to the ambitions of the United States. He added that the time had arrived to seek riddance of the dominance of the United States and its planted rulers in the country.
Mahenti said that the present government did not have the guts to keep the Nato supply routes blocked but only the Jamaat-e-Islami could do the work in association with the DPC. He said that the decision had provided oxygen line to the US-led Nato forces in Afghanistan and thus the United States had attained reinforcement to fix its claws deep in the region. While criticising the political parties in the assemblies, he said that the friendly opposition was equally exploiting the nation while only Jamaat-e Islami was the real opposition to the government.
Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chapter General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui in his address said that the government had insulted the sentiments of the nations, which proved that the rulers were not loyal to the country but were the keeper of the interests of the United States. He said that Pakistan was engaged in the war against terror, which was baseless and yielded no benefits to the country but proved it was a war waged against the country and the Muslims of the region. The war had resulted in deaths of more than 35,000 civilians and 5,000 armed forces personnel while the country had also suffered a colossal loss of $71 billion.
