Awareness against drugs be fostered among students

KARACHI - Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, has said that reading material against use of drugs should be made part and parcel of syllabus at primary and secondary level in order to create awareness among students.

He was talking to a delegation of students of a private university here at his office on Tuesday. Professor Mirza Khalid Raza led the delegation.  Provincial Minister said that drugs were poison and destroyed the young generation. If proper information was passed on to the students, it was sure that they would never use drugs in future.
He added that the present democratic government is fully aware of the problems of young generation. It is a good fortune to Pakistan, that majority of population is consisted of young men. It is the need of the hour that this power should be streamlined in proper direction.
Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that it was the duty of the government to keep the young men away from drugs and the government was fulfilling its duty properly.
He requested the teachers community to play their positive role in eradicating drugs in the society. They should conduct seminars and debates in their educational institutions so that they might create awareness against use of drugs.
Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, informed the students about measures taken by his Department to stop drugs.
