International Youth Day to be marked on 12th

KARACHI - The Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh, in collaboration with the Habib University Foundation (HUB) will organize an event on August 12 at a local hotel to celebrate the International Youth Day.

An announcement here on Wednesday said that the celebration of this day was pioneered by the Youth Affairs Department and the Habib University Foundation collaboratively, and has been held for four consecutive years with great zeal.
Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs, will be the chief guest of the event.
The theme of the day as declared by the UN is ‘Building a Better World: partnering with Youth’.
The event will engage young people in reflecting on their key issues, and how they can overcome these challenges.
The event will also invite young achievers for acknowledgement of their talents and efforts.
Various youth projects being run by the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh, will also be showcased to share the information and success stories of these projects for youth development in Sindh.
Meanwhile, former premier of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood visited Khursheed Begum Secretariat of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) with a delegation and held meeting with members of the Co-ordination Committee of MQM Kunwar Khalid Yunus and Shahid Latif.
Minister for State Dr Nadeem Ehsan and MQM ministers in Kashmir Tahir Khokhar and Saleem Butt were also present on the occasion.
Barrister Mahmood said that the MQM had always lent its support for the rights of the people of Kashmir for which the Kashmiri people were thankful to Mr Altaf Hussain.
 He said that the MQM workers had served the people of Kashmir after the devastating earthquake of 2005, and their selfless and unforgiveable services are greatly valued by the people of Kashmir. 
Barrister Mahmood further said that the MQM members in the legislative assembly are actively working for the development of Kashmir and for the welfare of the Kashmiri people.
Barrister Mahmood thanked the Co-ordination Committee on a warm welcome and said that they would never forget the love shown to them.
