KARACHI - Pakistan’s Ambassador for Polio Eradication Aseefa Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday met with the families of deceased polio workers at Chief Minister House and assured them of providing suitable jobs.During the event, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, state minister Begum Shehnaz Wazir Ali, Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, Commissioner Karachi Hashim Raza Zaidi, Health Secretary Aftab Ahmed Khatri, Project Director EPI, Deputy Commissioners of South, Central, West, and others were present.Aseefa Bhutto Zardari directly went to each affectee and expressed sympathies and sorrows for deceased polio workers. She also met with the injured workers there and said that present government had already provided compensation and financial assistance to legal heirs of Shaheed workers. The government will also fully look after the affected families and injured persons. She went personally to every affectee and embraced the women and children, and received applications from them. She also assured that suitable jobs would be provided to the affected family members of deceased polio workers. She listened to the problems and assured full support from government.Later, she had a meeting with State Minister Begum Shanaz Wazir Ali, Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, Commissioner Karachi, Secretary Health and other officers.Aseefa said that the polio vaccination campaign in Union council No-1,2,3 areas of Baldia Town which are under threat be completed from January 11 to January 13, 2013 while campaign for short interval additional doze in remaining Union Councils of District West Karachi be carried with effect from January 16 to 18. Pakistan’s Ambassador for Polio Eradication stressed the need to launch the campaign against Polio in every nook and corner of the province so that there is no any incident or case of Polio more.She also called on CM Qaim and discussed matters of campaign and efforts with regard to the eradication of polio from Sindh. The chief minister apprised her certain issues, while he fully assured Ambassador of Polio for Pakistan that government of Sindh and its all institutions will fully cooperate in fulfillment of task so that the campaign becomes fully successful. Various measures to this effect were also discussed in detail.
