JI demands withdrawal of increase

KARACHI  - Jamaat-e-Islami, Karachi officials have demanded withdrawal of Rs 10 per kilogram increase in the price of milk to provide relief to the common man.
This increase will also push the prices of all line products including confectionery items alarmingly high, they said.
In a statement here on Monday, former MNAs and MPAs of JI Muzaffar Ahmed Hashimi, Laeeq Ahmed Khan, Nasrullah Khan Shajee, Younas Baraai, Hameedullah Khan advocate said that milk is a necessary kitchen item for all irrespective of income level of families. The sudden rise of Rs 10 per Kg will deprive the lower middle and middle class families especially their children from this much needed ingredient of their diet. 
They maintained that the people were already facing high inflation, unemployment or under-employment. The urged the government to revoke the City District Government Karachi’s decision of approving the increase in milk price.
