KARACHI - At least ten political parties including Pakistan Muslim League Functional, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, Jamaat-e-Islami, JUI-F and nationalist parties have decided to make electoral alliance and field joint candidate against the ruling PPP in next elections in Sindh.

PML-F’s Jam Madad and Imtiaz Shaikh, PML-N’s Saleem Zia and Irfan Marwat, JUI-F’s Khalid Mehmood Soomro, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Hussain Mehanti and Asadullah Bhutto, JUP’s Anas Noorani, NPP’s MPA Masroor Jatoi, Sunni Tehreek’s Shakil Qadri. Nationalist parties, including Awami Tehreek’s Anwar Soomro, Sindh Tarqi Passand Party’s Haider Shahani and Sindh United Party’s Shah Muhammad Shah attended the meeting.
They announced to make electoral alliance and to field unanimous candidates in the forthcoming general elections to provide alternative leadership to the people of Sindh against the ruling PPP.
PML-F’s Jam Madad and Imtiaz Shaikh while addressing a press conference said that the chief of all parties would sit together and give final name of alliance soon.
They demanded to remove the ‘politically imposed’ governors in all the provinces with independent governors to ensure fair and transparent elections in the country.
All the parties announced to take out a joint peace rally on Sunday (today) in the City against the targeted killings and bogus voter lists.
They accused the PPP-led government of failure to control worsening law and order situation, kidnapping for ransom, gang-rapes and other heinous crimes being committed in the province.
They demanded the election commission not to lift the ban on the recruitment and uplift of works as it will be used as rigging in polls.
On this occasion, Anas Noorani of JUP said that a neutral operation be launched in the City against the criminals, irrespective of their political affiliation, adding that licence and illegal all weapons must be recovered from the City which will pave way for peace in Karachi.
Meanwhile the opposition MPAs in Sindh Assembly here the other day alleged on the government that it passed the Sindh Civil Servants amendment bill only to hide the wrong promotions, terming the bill unconstitutional.
Jam Madad Ali, Sheharyar Mahar and Nusar Sehar Abbasi of PML-F and Arif Mustafa Jatoi of NPPP while talking to the media persons outside the Sindh Assembly said that government has given promotions on nepotism basis, so it passed bill in haste to give legal cover to its wrongdoings.
They claimed that the matter of out of promotions and appointments was still pending in the apex court, so no need of taking bill into law in haste.
They appealed the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the passage of bill in haste.
They demanded scrutiny into the out of promotions and appointments as illegal promotions must be rejected.
Jam Madad alleged that PPP government by stopping the uplift schemes on the recommendation of the opposition MPAs has started political victimizations against them.
He said that opposition still believed that the two ministers, Syed Murad Ali Shah and Sadiq Memon, who resigned from assembly seat on dual nationality, but they sitting in the house unconstitutionally.
Sheharyar Mahar said that officers form Sui gas and other departments have been merged in the Sindh government and got out of turn promotions illegally.
Arif Jatoi said that government by passing Sindh Servant Bill 2013 has given legal cover to the promotions and appointments of all the government officers including police officers.
