KARACHI - The new commissioner of Karachi, Hashim Raza Zaidi after assuming the charge, directed the officials concerned to remove the encroachments surroundings of Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine in Clifton.

The commissioner expressed anger over the failure of the management of the Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine in removing the encroachment on the property of the shrine as well as uncontrolled activities of narcotics mafia around the shrine.
He also directed the police to make a comprehensive security plan of Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine and all illegal activities be curbed immediately. He said that he would work in collaboration of all the concerned stakeholders and departments for the uplift and progress of the city so that its dwellers could be given maximum relief in terms of civic amenities. He expressed his resolve to remove illegal water hydrants and complete the long-delayed highway project of the Lyari Expressway; however, he said that no final date could be given to complete this task.
The city’s commissioner, earlier held a meeting in his office with his subordinate staff and officers and exhorted them to observe punctuality in the office timings and routines so that the people visiting the offices of the commissioner, deputy-commissioners, assistant-commissioners, could be served in a best manner for resolution of their vital civic problems.
He also attended a meeting at the offices of the KMC, along with the KMC administrator, for reviewing the affairs of an upcoming cleanliness drive.
