KARACHI – An alleged bandit was killed in an exchange of fire in New Karachi area on Sunday, while his three associates succeeded in fleeing, police officials said. As many as four unidentified bandits barged into a towel factory to rob workers. On being informed, a police party rushed to the spot. However, the bandits opened fire on it. As the attack was repulsed, one of them sustained bullet wounds. The three others, however, managed to flee during the exchange of fire.Police recovered a TT Pistol from the possession of the dead dacoit and shifted his body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where it was moved to a morgue for identification after autopsy.Separately, a man, Hussain, 35, son of Noor Muhammad, was shot dead over a trivial matter in Al-Falah Colony area. According to police officials, a scuffle between children changed into an armed clash between their elders. As a result, Hussain was killed, while Abdul Rahim, 20, son of Khair Muhammad, of the rival group, was injured. The body and the injured were shifted to the Abbasi Shahed Hospital. A case has been registered against the two sides.
