KARACHI – Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Tuesday those who called a strike were not well-wishers of the province. “It is better for them not to call for strike but to work for the relief of the rain-hit people and should come forward in relief work. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said, “It is really unfortunate that so-called leaders of Sindh, are calling for strike, not for relief activities. During last two years, Sindh had to face unprecedented natural disasters. President Asif Ali Zardari himself visited flood-hit areas and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and members of Sindh Assembly are also visiting rain-affected areas.” He added that all relief works were being monitored properly. “Those calling for striker never helped needy people. On the other hand, they created hurdles in relief work. They should learn from Pakistan People’s Party that has always helped in time of difficulty”. The provincial minister said, “PPP’s political graph is ever high. Anti-democratic elements have no place in the eyes of the people of Sindh. They should compare themselves with achievements of PPP, then they should realise that where they are standing.”
