KARACHI - Senior Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazharul Haq has said that President Asif Ali Zardari, MQM leader Altaf Hussain, Governor Ishratul Ebad Khan, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, leaders of Pakistan People’s Party and the people of Sindh deserve congratulation on Sindh People’s Local Government Ordinance as it will come up to the expectations of the masses and will open the new vistas of the progress. He said this while talking to various delegations here at his office on Tuesday. He said that the Sindh People’s Local Government Ordinance was a great achievement of the present democratic government and credit goes to President Zardari and Altaf Hussain. While condemning the attitude of nationalist parties, he said that nationalists and their followers had negative attitude and they were against the democratic process. He said, “It was sorry state that without reading the ordinance, the anti-democratic elements are making hue and cry. To call for a strike is a democratic right but to call it for nothing is not a good act.” He added that the people of Sindh were very sensible and they could not be deceived by the nationalists. The people knew who were sincere with them, he said. The senior minister said that PPP was the greatest champion for the rights of the people of Sindh. Those who were crying that day, why they were silent during the dictatorship of Pervez Musharaf and why they did not go against Nazmims. He further said, “Those who have given strike call, are enemy of the progress of the province. Due to political vision and reconciliation policy of President Asif Zardari, today there is political stability in Sindh. People should not be misguided because they are well aware of the situation.”
