KARACHI – At least seven people were killed in separate acts of violence here on Saturday.
Police said that victim identified as Faheem, 45, was returning home on his vehicle (ATJ-916) from his workplace when unidentified assailants riding a motorbike intercepted his vehicle and sprayed bullets. Resultantly he sustained multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot. Police rushed to the spot as being informed and shifted the body at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for autopsy. The motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained and further investigation was underway.
In another incident of firing, an activist of Awami National Party was shot dead near Walika Chowrangi within the remits of Site-A police station.
Police said that deceased Shadi Khan was going on his motorbike when gunmen targeted him and managed to flee. Police rushed to the spot and shifted him to hospital where deceased succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. Deceased was the worker of ANP Bukhari Colony Ward.
A man was gunned down in Sector 11, North Karachi Sector within the remits of Sir Syed police station.
Police said that the victim namely Asif Qadri, 31, was sitting at his gift shop where unidentified armed men entered the shop and started indiscriminate firing. Resultantly he died on the spot. Police rushed to the spot after getting information and shifted the body at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem and later handed over to his heirs. Police have so far been unable to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
A body of a man was found from Ranchore Line area within the limits of Eidgah Police Station. Police said that the victim’s identification had yet to be ascertained. Police said unidentified culprits kidnapped the victim from somewhere and later threw his body at the said place after killing. Police shifted the body to Civil Hospital Karachi for medicolegal formalities and later moved to morgue for identification.
Two bodies of men were found from Jodia Bazaar, Kharadar area within the remits of Kharadar Police Station. Police said both the victims were shot dead after kidnapping. The deceased identification have yet to be ascertained and the bodies were shifted to the morgue for identification.
In the remits of Manghopir police station, a man namely Abdul Waheed was gunned down over personal dispute. Police said the deceased had a dispute with Ayaz and Riaz. Police handed the body over to the family after autopsy.
