KARACHI – Unrest flared up in Old City area of the metropolis when sack-packed body of an activist of the Katchi Rabita Council (KRC) was recovered, while two others were mowed down in the ongoing spree of violence on Tuesday.The KRC supporter was recovered dead near Kharadar Jamaat Khana within the remits of the Baghdadi Police Station. According to police officials, the victim, whose hands and legs had been tied up with a rope, had been shot in the temple. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. The officials suspected that unidentified men might have kidnapped him and killed him afterward.Identified as Moosa Sanghar, son of Mohammad Somoro Sanghar, the victim was a resident of Agra Taj Colony of Lyari area. He went missing on Monday night. After the recovery of the body, tension engulfed several areas of Lyari, including Agra Taj, Moosa Lane, Khadda Market and others, where unidentified gunmen went on shooting sprees.As a result of the firing, a passerby, namely 30-year-old Amjad Baloch, received gunshot wounds and died instantly. The body was moved to the CHK for medico-legal formalities. No case was registered till the filing of this report.Separately, a young man was gunned down in Korangi area within the precincts of the Korangi Police Station. Identified as 25-year-old Abdul Waheed, son of Saleem, the victim was heading towards his home, when unidentified gunmen attacked him. He received a bullet in the head and died on the spot. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. According to SHO Ateeq Hussain, the victim was a resident of Korangi number 1. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.The victim was an employee of a garment factory and was unmarried. A case has been registered against the unidentified assassins.
