Day of Prayer observed for Malala

KARACHI – The citizens observed Friday as a “Day of Prayer” for Malala Yousufzai, who is being treated in the critical care unit at a military hospital after facing cowardly assassination attempt by the Taliban.

In various educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities, special prayers were offered for early recovery of Malala and her friends, who suffered gunshots in an assassination attempt by the Taliban.
During Friday’s prayers, many religious scholars condemned the cowardly attack on the teenager by Taliban, and said that attack on the 14-year-old girl was a heinous crime, which shows that Taliban had no idea about the teachings of Islam. Various public and private organisations also held prayer gatherings in the City. Exchange of SMS is also being continued to condemn the activities of Taliban especially attack on Malala Yousufzai.
