Lawyers halt activities, stage demo to support Malala

The lawyers community of Pakistan observed a prayer day and halted all their activites to show support to Child activist Malala Yousufzai, Saturday.

The lawyers hailing from Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi Bar, District Bar Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum and Islamabad went on strike today against the brazen broad daylight gunfire attack on a small girl while she was riding her way back home on board a school van.
The Karachi Bar and Supreme Court Bar had announced that all the case hearing today will be postponed until Monday. Therefore, some important case including the murder case of Benazir Bhutto was also put on a delay.
Khyber Pukhtunkhaw lawyers on the call of KPK Bar Council went on strike protesting the attack on Malala and passeed resolutions condemning the barbaric act of the Taliban. The lawyers wearing black bands showed sympathy and solidarity with the cause for which Malala stood for.
The court activities will be resumed from Monday.
