KARACHI – The Pakistan Tehreek Insaf has called for confiscating property of the owner of the garment factory gutted in Tuesday’s blaze in Baldia Town for compensating legal heirs of those killed in the tragedy. In a statement, PTI chairman Imran Khan offered condolences to the families of the victims of the factory fire.

“The incident needs to be seriously investigated. The PTI shows concerns over the presence of unsafe factory conditions and lack of planned emergency exits.” He said that local administration of the Sindh government should be taken to task for being ignorant of unsafe working environment in factories. “Immediate FIR should be launched against the owners and the authorities responsible for assurance of safety measures.”
“Also the properties of the owners should be confiscated to compensate the victim families. The injured must be provided immediate and adequate medical assistance to avoid any further loss of precious lives.” The PTI chairman also prayed for speedy recovery of those injured.
