KARACHI - Leaders of political and religio-political parties on Friday demanded the government and judiciary to take immediate notice of the irregularities in electoral lists. They warned that they would continue their protest from Karachi to Islamabad if the problem would not resolve. These views were expressed by PML-N Sindh general secretary Saleem Zia, JI Karachi chief Hussain Mehanti, JUP leader Siddique Rathore, AML leader Mehfooz Yar Khan, Irfanullah Marwat and others. Addressing the protest demonstration of JI and PML-N held outside the Provincial Election Commission office against irregularities in electoral lists, PML-N Sindh leader Saleem Zia termed that MQM’s mandate is fake. “MQM is rigging the election since 22 years.”Referring to the prevailing law and order situation of Karachi, he said that MQM was responsible of violence in Karachi. “MQM claims the mandate of Karachi but in fact it is fake mandate.” He warned the Election Commission that his party would not allow the ECP to hold the election in presence of irregularities in electoral drafts. He urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to immediately reach Karachi and take notice of the prevailing law and order situation of the metropolis.JI Karachi chief Hussain Mehanti said that thousands of people have deprived of their vote in the City through a well-planned conspiracy. “I informed the Provincial Election Commission a number of times but he ignored the request of political and religious parties,” he added. He claimed that irregularities in electoral drafts were a conspiracy to rig the upcoming elections, saying that we rejected the bogus electoral lists.Mehanti warned of possible unrest during the elections if the irregularities in electoral drafts would not resolve, adding that people has rejected these bogus lists. “All the political and religious parties are united against the bogus electoral lists and we will protest against these lists in Islamabad also,” he added.
