KARACHI – Sindh Senior Education Minister Mazharul Haq has said Malala Yousufzai is a symbol of courage and tolerance. She faced oppressed forces like Benazir Bhutto did.
The ceremony was held to pray for early recovery of Malala Yousufzai. On this occasion, he announced to upgrade Secondary School to Higher Secondary School and said that after full recovery Malala would soon inaugurate the up-gradation ceremony herself. He said that attack on her was an attack on all daughters of Pakistan and no father could tolerate attack on his daughter. She raised her voice against cruelty in Swat and was spreading the light of knowledge. Now, the time has come that we should send message to these cruels that we would continue her mission.
He added, “It is a fact that if Shaheed Benazir Bhutto could not get education, she would not have become the prime minister of Pakistan. Our girls children can change their life by getting education.” He said that those who said that they did not attack on women, they admitted that they attacked Malala. They do not deserved to be called humans or Muslims. He said that few days back, he went to Peshawar to inquire after Malala and met her father Ziauddin Zai and assured him full co-operation of all the political parties, people of Pakistan and especially the Sindh government.
On the occasion, the girl students gave Rs50,000 to minister for education for Malala Yousufzai. He said that he had come to school on special directives of Sindh chief minister to attend prayer ceremony. Prayers were also offered for Shazia and Kainat who were also injured in the attack.
A large number of students, parents and people attended the ceremony.
