Sindh to host national law moot

KARACHI - Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro said on Saturday that provincial government would host a national level law conference in Karachi.

Chairing a meeting at his office, he said that the provincial law secretaries, advocates general and prosecutor generals from four provinces as well as Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan would participate in the conference.
The objective of the national level moot is to make consultation to review the laws and suggest/recommend amendments for making the laws in the interest of the people, Soomro said.
According to the official statement issued here on Saturday, the law minister also directed the advocate general, prosecutor general and solicitor of Sindh to submit their monthly performance reports regarding disposal of cases, warning the law officers to suspend them if they were seen on duties without uniform.
The officials concerned informed the meeting that the project of automation of offices of district public prosecutors, district attorneys and other concerned offices in all the districts of province was in final stage and Chief Minister would soon inaugurate it.
Soomro directed the officials concerned to hold meetings at divisional headquarters of THE province to ascertain the disposal of cases.
The district attorneys, district public prosecutors, additional advocate general, SSPs, DIGs and Commissioner would attend the meetings to discuss the pending cases and take measures for their early disposal, law minister was informed in the meeting.
