KARACHI - A six-member Japanese team of experts has arrived here for bringing an improvement in the city’s infrastructure, construction of roads and solid waste management.The team represented by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Board of Investment called on Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed at his office here the other day, said a statement.Speaking on the occasion, the administrator said that the Japanese experts would be provided all possible support in the work to bring an improvement in city’s infrastructure.He hailed the cooperation of JICA and Japanese government for improvement in the infrastructure of Karachi.The administrator said the Japanese investors will be offered to make direct investment in the Export Processing Zone.He further said the construction work on phase-II of Mehran Highway has been started. Hussain said that the Karachi Circular Railway project will be started by September next year with the cooperation of JICA.He expressed the hope that foreign investment in Karachi would enhance as a result of MoUs signed with the countries like Turkey, Iran and Russia.
