KARACHI - PPP leader and Minister for Local Government, Agha Siraj Durrani has said that the cases registered against innocent people can be withdrawn.

Talking to media at Sindh Assembly on Friday, he said that many cases were lodged against PPP workers and leaders in past, but during the investigation no one was found guilty. “Even wrong cases were lodged against me which have been withdrawn,” he added. Durrani said, “We are against the criminals but should not victimise the innocent people, adding that misunderstanding always emerges in coalition governments.” He said that government would negotiate with the MQM and would resolve their issues and reservations, claiming that MQM will not quit the coalition.  To a question, he said that that the general election would be held on proper time he we cannot give deadline for local government election.
Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro while talking to the media said that operation would not conducted against ‘Jiyalas’ in Lyari, but police should take action against the criminals.
To a question, he opined that people involved in crime are everywhere in Karachi as well as other parts of Sindh province, adding that it would be injustice to focus on Lyari saying it is only the ‘hatchery for notorious gangs’.
He further said that it was MQM’s democratic right to protest against government policies but they cannot force it sit on opposition seats.
About opposition’s allegations that PPP and MQM playing ‘Nora-Kashti’ with each other as MQM will sit in opposition in consultation with the ruling PPP, Speaker Nisar Khuhro said that MQM was a political party so no one could get the MQM sit on the opposition benches through engineered way.  Responding to a question, Speaker said that during the upcoming election the people of Sindh would prove who have worked for them and performed well. We will get the vote on our performance, so the lets’ decide the people of Sindh, he added.
PPP CROSSED THE HOSTILITY LIMITS: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Central Co-ordination Committee member Waseem Aftab said that Peoples Amn Committee is involved killing of our peoples and the killers of the Lyari gang war enjoys the full support of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
Aftab stated that killers of the banned PAC were involved in carrying out attacks against Urdu-speaking, taken them off public buses, tortured and cut their bodies, scattering their pieces across the metropolis.
PPP sheltering the killers and withdraw of cases again them separates the MQM-PPP alliance in the upcoming election; he added.
He said that the Lyari gang war killers were targeting the traders of the metropolis and killing of traders in Shershah Market was not the first incident. Traders of Karachi have been targeted on refusal to pay extortion money.
The Lyari gang war was not only involved in the killing of common people and traders but also in the murder of police officers as well as rocket attacks on their mobiles and police stations.
He said that PPP leader continued to openly support the notorious terrorists in the enmity towards MQM. PPP support for the PAC parts our ways in the upcoming election.
Earlier MQM‘s COC decided to contest elections in Sindh individually, and will not form an alliance with any party.
