KARACHI – Three more people were gunned down in incidents of violence, while four bodies were recovered in the metropolis on Sunday. Security guard of a petrol pump on II Chundrigar Road was gunned down by a bike-borne duo. Identified as Iftikhar Ahmed 42, the victim died on the spot. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsy and later handed over to the heirs. Police official said the victim hailed from Naushero Feroze, suspecting that he might have been killed over rivalry. Further investigation is underway. Body of a man was recovered from Lyari riverbed near Gulistan Cinema. Police officials said that unidentified culprits kidnapped him and later killed him. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later moved to a morgue for identification. Another body, riddled with bullets, was found from a landfill site in Musa Lane area. Police officials said identification of the victim was yet to be ascertained. They suspected that unidentified culprits might have kidnapped him and shot him in the temple afterwards. The body was moved to a morgue for identification after the completion of medico-legal formalities at the Civil Hospital Karachi.Separately, a man was mowed down near Nishan-e-Haider Square, Orangi Town, within the remit of the Pakistan Bazaar Police Station. Police officials said the victim, identified as Shafi Muhammad 35, was a resident of Manghopir area. The victim was heading towards his home from somewhere while pillion riders opened fire on him, causing his instant death. The body was handed over to the heirs after autopsy at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police officials believed that the motive behind the killing was personal dispute. Further investigation is in progress. No case was registered till the filling of this report. Separately, a man was shot dead in Ittehad Town. Police officials said the victim appeared to be a Pakhtun but his identification was yet to be ascertained. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for postmortem and later moved to a morgue for identification.Separately, two sack-packed bag bodies were found from Lyari riverbed near Timber Market, Liaqutabad. Police officials said the victims were yet to be identified. The bodies were shifted to the Abbasi Shahedd Hospital for medico-legal formalities and later moved to a morgue for identification. Police officials suspected that unidentified assassins might have taken them captive and later shot them dead. Further investigation is in progress.
