  Qaim announces Rs150m for SMIU

KARACHI - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has announced first grant of Rs150 million for Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU). The Sindh CM made the announcement while addressing as chief guest at the first anniversary of SMIU, celebrated at its premises here, said a statement issued on Sunday.

Qaim said the present democratic government has increased the number of public sector universities in the province, as its leadership including President Asif Ali Zardari takes personal interest in promotion of the SMIU.
 And provision of 100 acres free of cost land to the SMIU is manifestation to this fact while rest of the universities have been allotted land in the educational city against a specific price. He highly appreciated the efforts of SMIU Vice Chancellor Muhammad Ali Sheikh for betterment and development of the institution. Earlier, the CM visited the museum of the Sindh Madressatul Islam University.
