KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Sunday organized a protest camp outside the Press Club against illegal detention of workers.JI Chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, Naseem Siddiquie and leaders of other political parties condemned the illegal detention of their workers and urged the government to immediately release them. They said that the unconstitutional operations of intelligence agencies had led to lawlessness while people had lost trust on institutions responsible for the national integrity and solidarity. They further said that the intelligence agencies should produce the abducted citizens and political workers and prove their offence in any court of law. Failure to produce and prove the charges in any court of law was a sure sign that the abducted citizens were innocent. Two JI workers, Deputy Chief Ajmal Waheed, and his brother Osama Waheed were kidnapped from the Karachi International Airport. Osama Waheed was released from prison. The intelligence agencies abducted both the brothers. It had been a year since they were held in illegal detention.
