KARACHI- Muttahida Qaumi Movement senators hailed the reduction in prices of petroleum products and compressed natural gas (CNG), saying that such a move on the part of the government would provide relief to the citizens.The MQM senators, while terming the decrease in the prices of petroleum products and the CNG “a fresh wave of air for the people”, said that the continued increase in the prices of essential commodities had financially burdened the people across the country and, as such, it had made it impossible for them to make their both ends meet.They said that at a time when the prices of all essential commodities had been sky-rocketed, the people of the entire country would get relief with the reduction in the prices of petroleum prices and the CNG.Recalling that the MQM was the only party in the country that always supported decrease in prices of petroleum products at all the forums, the MQM Senators said that the MQM with a view to maintaining the prices of the petroleum products within the reach of the common man had also proposed subsidy on the petroleum products in its budget proposals.They lauded the efforts of the federal petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain, in getting reduced the prices of petroleum products as well as the CNG.
